It was love at first waft, when we discovered Ofresia by Diptyque at an outing to Aedes a few years ago. As soon as the scent escaped from the bottle, I knew I was a goner. Delicate and dewlike, Ofresia opens fresh and green, but succumbs to its sweet, freesia and lilac-laced middle and lightly smokey, peppery-woody drydown.

This new perfume from Estee Lauder features Gwyneth Paltrow as the model in their marketing campaign. Check the back of any recent Martha Stewart Living magazine and see. I mention this because in the photo the Lauder folks are using in their ad campaign, Ms. Paltrow, dressed in the sweetest pinks, is perched atop an old-fashioned bicycle, surrounded by bouquets of beautiful pink flowers and plates of scrumptious sweet strawberry and meringue desserts. How can you resist, they ask? Well, I couldn't. With top notes of pomegranate, fresh greens and freesia, a sweet floral middle of peony, muguet, heliotrope and lily, and a lovely warm bottom of sugary rose, caramel, marshmallow and vanilla, this fragrant confection is truly a delight.
